Title I - Supported Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) program
Desert Heights Charter School is proud to be able to meet the needs of our students. It is our goal that every student will succeed. As part of this commitment, Desert Heights provides this support through our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) reading and math intervention programs, which are partially funded by Title I. Title I funds are provided to Desert Heights Charter School by the federal government to assist students in the general education classroom who may need supplemental support to meet Arizona’s academic standards.
In our commitment to ensure the success of our students, the MTSS program identifies students who fail to demonstrate academic growth and proficiency in reading and/or math within the first four weeks of school, based on available data. No single data measure is used in isolation to determine educational changes for a student.
Targeted students identified as needing supplemental instructional support in reading and/or math will be offered small group, differentiated instruction with either the classroom teacher or within a pull-out setting, with an intervention teacher, depending on need, during the school-wide intervention block. A collaborative MTSS plan for individual student instructional goals and progress monitoring is developed and communicated with parents.
