Welcome to Desert Heights Charter School (DHCS), a nurturing educational community serving students from kindergarten through fourth grade, as well as offering a preschool program. At DHCS, we prioritize collaboration between our dedicated staff and supportive parents to ensure a positive and enriching learning journey for every child. As a close-knit charter school, we take pride in our ability to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and family-friendly environment. We regularly host special events to celebrate and engage with our families, and we actively encourage parental involvement through volunteer opportunities both within our school and the broader community. Our campus doors are always open to parents, fostering a welcoming atmosphere that extends seamlessly to our Preparatory Campus (DHPA), catering to students from fifth to twelfth grade.
Desert Heights Preparatory Academy (DHPA) is dedicated to preparing students for success in college and beyond, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence, integrity, and social awareness. Our comprehensive approach to education includes robust athletic programs, enriching fine arts opportunities, and a variety of clubs and societies, such as Honors Societies and Student Council, to help students build well-rounded college resumes. Accredited by AdvancED, we meticulously design our curriculum to ensure readiness for Honors, Advanced Placement, and dual enrollment coursework, while also prioritizing project-based instructional opportunities to minimize homework burdens.
Recognizing the importance of technology in today's world, we integrate cutting-edge tools into all aspects of our curriculum. From providing school-issued Office 365 accounts for seamless access to email and Microsoft Office applications, to incorporating iPads into our technology courses starting from kindergarten, and eventually transitioning to a 1:1 iPad implementation for seventh through twelfth grade students, we are dedicated to equipping our students with the digital skills necessary for success in higher education and the workforce. Our immersive approach to technology not only prepares students for the rigors of college but also provides them with invaluable hands-on experience for their future careers.
